How we work
At Lindex, sustainability is part of our everyday work, and we are dedicated to keeping our promise – to make a difference for future generations. Our sustainability work spans over several levels – from our higher purpose as a company, to meeting our stakeholders’ expectations and staying updated with legislation.
Our initiatives
We can achieve our best when we work together and thus delivering our promise – making a difference for future generations – we need to collaborate with our suppliers, industry peers and partners.
Suppliers, factories and working conditions
We do not own any factories, instead we work with independent partners. In recent years, we have greatly consolidated our supply chain and today we work in long-term partnerships with several carefully selected partners.
All partners have a living wage. Ensuring that our entire value chain is progressing within the living wage is an important part of our sustainability promise.
Our materials
We know that our choice of materials has an impact on both people and the environment. All materials have their own challenges, and we are therefore committed to always evaluate and find the best alternatives that have less negative impact.
Better Denim
The production of jeans can be very dirty and is one of the most intensive processes in textiles due to intensive washing. Simply put, conventional denim production isn’t great for the environment or the people who work in the production.
We are on a journey towards the production of jeans to have as little negative impact on the environment as possible, considering the lifespan of the clothing and circular fashion. We are increasing the percentage of recycled materials used and have also advanced the process of using efficient washing processes in cleaner sources and processes.
GOTS
A GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified garment is made from organic cotton. GOTS certifies all the steps after the cotton has been produced and includes both social and environmental requirements for all parts of the production, for example; the spinning of yarn, weaving of fabrics, treatments, dyeing and printing. The entire textile process is watched closely and strictly, all to supply a trustworthy and reliable product guarantee for you as a customer.
Chemicals and water
Chemicals and water are used during the production of our products. It is important for us to use less chemicals and water, and to use water properly. Using water wisely revolves around the choice of chemicals, as well as the equipment and processes used to clean the water before it is released. It is about ensuring that production does not lead to the release of harmful substances into nature, polluting water sources and causing irreversible damage to the environment.
Circular fashion
As a fashion company, we need to explore new circular ways of working and enable more sustainable consumption. Because even if consumption in the end is in the hands of the consumer, we need to create the conditions that makes it possible for fashion to be more circular and conscious choices to be easy. For example, using a garment for a long time is ultimately up to the consumer, but it depends on us offering products with great fit and quality.
